Researcher biography

BA (Hons, summa cum laude) (Monash), PhD (UQ)

Simon is an intellectual historian who lectures in philosophy and history at Christian Heritage College in Brisbane. His scholarship focuses on political, legal and religious thought, as well as legal history. He has a BA in Politics from Monash University, and graduated with a PhD in History at the University of Queensland in 2019. His PhD, which was completed through IASH, was on early modern Protestant natural law and its impact on the secularisation of political life. He is currently investigating the uses of the fifth commandment in early Protestant political thought, and the possibilities of adopting intellectual history methods in constitutional interpretation.
