Researcher biography

Dr Andrea Bubenik is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Communication and Arts where her research and teaching is focused on Renaissance and Baroque art (especially Albrecht Dürer and his followers), histories of printmaking, court cultures and collecting, links between art and science ca. 1400-1800, and the historiography of art from ancient times to the present.

Andrea's project for the fellowship is titled “The Renaissance Artist-Scientist: The Afterlives of Albrecht Dűrer and Leonardo da Vinci” and is a monograph to compare and contrast the receptions of these influential figures. The fellowship will facilitate the completion of her book, for which she has already undertaken archival research in Germany, the UK, and the Czech Republic, and will allow her the time to develop a funding application.
