QUEX grant success

8 Nov 2019

Associate Professor Elizabeth Stephens (IASH), Emeritus Professor Peter Cryle (IASH), and Dr Karin Sellberg (School of Historical and Philosophical Inquiry) are part of an international, multidisciplinary team that was recently awarded a QUEX Accelerator Grant. Their project, Medical Humanities' approaches to Healthy Ageing and the Life Course, has great potential to deliver improved understandings of healthy ageing. The grant is a great achievement for the team and builds on the successes of UQ's Medical Humanities research network.

"This grant success is particularly heartening", Dr Stephens noted, "as so far the QUEX scheme has primarily supported projects in the STEM fields and this award recognises the important contribution of the humanities in addressing global issues."

By chance, the whole team was together in the UK when the grant was announced so, amid the celebrations, work on the project was able to commence straight away.

IASH congratulates the team on their success, a fitting reward for the work that they have put into building international relationships.
