IASH's Emeritus Professor Graeme Turner was interviewed for Fieldnotes, a project of The Society for Cinema and Media Studies during their conference in Seattle in March. The Fieldnotes project conducts, circulates and archives interviews with pioneers of film and media studies, recognising the contributions of key scholars. Professor Turner is the only Australian-based scholar to date to have been invited to participate in this project. The interview, with Associate Professor Serra Tinic from the University of Alberta, can be watched here.

Professor Turner, one of the leading figures in Cultural Studies and Media Studies both in Australia and internationally, was the founding Director of the Centre for Critical and Cultural Studies at the University of Queensland, Convenor of the ARC-Funded Cultural Research Network, and was awarded a prestigious ARC Federation Fellowship. Earlier this year he was made an Officer of the Order of Australia in recognition of his pioneering work in Cultural Studies and the Humanities.
