Welcome to Associate Professor Anna Johnston

12 Apr 2016

IASH is delighted to welcome Associate Professor Anna Johnston.  Anna comes to us from the University of Tasmania where she was the Graduate Research Coordinator in the School of Humanities and Director of the Centre for Colonialism and its Aftermath. She has expertise in colonial and post-colonial studies, Victorian studies, and Australian Literature. Anna currently holds an ARC Future Fellowship, for a project called “The Laboratory of Modernity: Knowledge Formation and the Australian Settler Colonies (1788-1900).” For this project, Anna will analyse the production and circulation of colonial knowledge through texts and their influence on European thought and modern social theory.

Anna has a substantive appointment as Associate Professor in English Literature in the School of Communication and Arts, but for the term of her Future Fellowship will be part of the Intellectual and Literary History program in IASH.
